Got Distracted

Team DWR tactics changed a little since the last post, with some difficulty in sorting Tasmanian registration soaking up available time, and work committments taking priority. We decided to keep the car on tarmac for a while, and re-tuned it to 102 octane fuel, back from the 110 it was used to. While this has dropped some power, it now has a more useful power curve, and is more pleasant to drive. Big thanks to Andy at Pro-Automotive for his trouble. We purchased underbody protection from Possum Bourne Motorsport, such as sumpguard, body protectors, and rear suspension panels, and have fitted these to test for size.

The team entered and competed in the recent 2 day Tasmanian Tarmac Challenge event in the North-West, with the view to learn the car's many different characteristics. I will report on all that next blog, but can say that we were happy with our performance after a few hiccups, and now have a baseline with which to improve the handling package. 7th Outright on each day was much better than expected for a new car, and some pretty awful wet weather.
